Glaucoma simply means damage to the optic nerve caused by increased pressure inside the eye, technically known as intraocular pressure (IOP). For patients seeking Glaucoma Treatment in Delhi, understanding the causes and effects of elevated eye pressure is an important first step toward preserving vision and managing the condition effectively.
As we can measure blood pressure, we can also measure pressure inside eyes, called intraocular pressure by a specific instrument.
In ancient Ayurveda Shushurta described glaucoma, what we know today as Adhimantha, about 5000 years ago. Although pressure inside the eyes at that time was measured or given an idea by palpation, at that time, also Glaucoma or Kala motia in simple terms was linked with systemic deficiencies and excess.
The same way is described in Chinese Traditional Medicine.
But the exact measurements of Glaucoma were not in ancient times, but the doctors had an idea of intraocular pressure just by palpation and combined with symptoms.
It the modern medicine also doctors have had an idea of eye pressure only till late middle of 19th century it was after that measuring instruments were developed and today we can measure IOP exactly whether it is 19 mm of Hg or 18 the mm of Hg .
Treatment we have today, Medicines, local eye drops which lower the intraocular pressure in the Modern Medicine patients have to use these eye drops regularly at prescribed times so to maintain the normal IOP, as Modern Medicine thinks raised pressure causes are inside the eyes only
So we have treatment only as eye drops.
But there is no way to regenerate the optic nerve that has been atrophied in modern medicine.
But in Traditional Chinese Medicine or Ayurveda, Glaucoma is explained on lines of systemic deficiency affecting the optic nerve, such as kidney or liver yin deficiency, resulting in flare of Liver yang and damaging the optic nerve.
In the same way in Ayurveda, glaucoma is described as an imbalance of tridoshas, Vata, pita, and cough, and they described this as Adimantha.
Here at Acu Eye Zone of Acupuncture India Centre, we have developed a technique named the Assimilated Technique, which has been provided as an ISO Certification, and for the first time, it has been proven and verified by the investigations of Modern medicine as perimetry that atrophied Optic nerve is regenerated.
Findings have been published in European journals. It is also published for the first time why the Visual Area in the brain, where images formed at the retina in the eyes are analysed at maximum possible distance away from the eyes. Though it has the disadvantage of taking time and some delayed persons’ reaction to avoid injuries, but nature has its own wonderful plans.
This is not with other sense organs, such as hearing, taste, smell, or other senses. The details are analysed near these sense organs inside the brain.
