Young lady, NRI based in Canada originally from a village of Gujarat, first contacted me in the winters of 2013 and came here for treatment in the month of May 2013. She was advised investigations well before coming here and opinion was given of good chances of improvement to the extent that she becomes self sufficient, but she didn't believe it. It has a reason also. Ophthalmologists earlier told her that there is no treatment of this ailment and her vision will deteriorate further. When I mailed her promising a good improvement, naturally she didn't trust it. She came to this Centre not for treatment but just to have a talk with me. When she interacted with other patients under treatment here she was assured and fixed an appointment. Finally she came for treatment in the month of May 2013.
She advised refraction after the treatment because other parameters improved considerably but not the distant vision. She later informed me there was further improvement after refraction. She can read 10/40 with both eyes now. This is due to the fact that with degeneration of macula and retina glasses cannot be prescribed accurately due to impaired image formation. After treatment there is improved image formation and glasses can be prescribed more accurately. Glare improvement — 80% normal and this condition was about 6 years back. Color vision near normal; she can read all color plates except one of the Ishihara chart. At night she feels around 50% improvement. Signature -
